First Light’s fully illuminated stop arm and illuminated school bus sign both bring a next level approach to the illuminated destination sign of years past. After installing signage for a Kentucky pilot program, it is evident the two equipped buses in my fleet stand out amongst the rest. Positive driver feedback, along with collecting real-world results over a 6-week in-district study of violators, prove that both devices make a difference.  Having encountered both pilot buses while on route, during various times and weather conditions, both products shine by unmistakably identifying the vehicle as a school bus. Identification and visibility are most crucial during dark operational hours and bad weather – and anything that assists in protecting a student’s life is, without question, a great investment.
